Anime Limited (All The Anime) has officially announced that it has licensed the acclaimed Banana Fish anime for the United Kingdom, Ireland, North America, and France. The announcement also confirms a brand-new English dub and French dub, introducing the beloved crime drama to a wider international audience for the first time.
The 24-episode anime, based on Akimi Yoshida's award-winning manga, will begin streaming on Netflix in the licensed regions starting August 12, 2026. The release marks the series' return to streaming after its departure from Amazon Prime Video in several territories.
Anime Limited also revealed the first members of the English dub cast. Brandon McInnis will voice Ash Lynx, while Jonathan Tanigaki will play Eiji Okumura. French-language performances will feature Sébastien Baulain as Ash and Grégory Laisné as Eiji. Additional cast members are expected to be announced at a later date.
In addition to the streaming release, Anime Limited confirmed plans to release Banana Fish on Blu-ray in the United Kingdom, United States, and France in early 2027, giving collectors the opportunity to own the critically acclaimed series on home video.
Originally produced by MAPPA and directed by Hiroko Utsumi, Banana Fish aired in 2018 and quickly became one of the studio's most celebrated adaptations. Set in New York City, the series follows teenage gang leader Ash Lynx and Japanese photographer's assistant Eiji Okumura as they uncover the mystery behind the deadly substance known as "Banana Fish." The anime is praised for its emotional storytelling, compelling characters, and faithful adaptation of Yoshida's classic manga.
With its long-awaited English dub, expanded streaming availability, and upcoming Blu-ray release, Anime Limited's licensing deal is poised to introduce Banana Fish to a new generation of anime fans worldwide.
